My first Lord Ribblesdale (Singer Sargent), in late Spring of 2018, when it was hanging at full splendour in the round of the room 36 rotunda. A chance meeting with a young Mexican lad, Apolo [sic], and his guardian proved fruitful – with both a commissioned portrait and a rare week of drawing tutelage.
